When choosing a mounting location, there are a few things to keep in mind:
1. Orientation: For the built-in GPS antenna to correctly acquire a signal, the unit should be mounted vertically, with the top of the unit facing the sky.
2. Proximity: As the device must be hard-wired to 12-24V, we recommend mounting the device as close to the main battery as possible.

MANY of my customers have an aluminum pilot house vessel. Have yo any specific knowledge as to the GPS reception & 3G comms from inside the aluminum pilot hose?
